Alternate & Renewable Energy Campaign – Pakistan (AREC-P)

Striving to Accelerate Renewable Energy Transition in Pakistan

demonstration against environmental pollution

Welcome to the Alternate and Renewable Energy Campaign in Pakistan (AREC-P), an initiative by Alternate Development Services to promote the use of sustainable energy sources and create a cleaner, greener future for Pakistan. Pakistan is blessed with abundant natural resources such as sunlight, wind, biomass, and hydro. However, the country’s heavy reliance on fossil fuels not only harms the environment but also makes it vulnerable to fluctuations in the global oil market.

Pakistan is facing an energy crisis due to its reliance on fossil fuels. This has led to a severe shortage of electricity, resulting in power outages and load shedding across the country. Moreover, the use of fossil fuels has a negative impact on the environment, contributing to air pollution and climate change.

To address these challenges, our campaign aims to raise awareness about the benefits of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, biomass, and hydropower. By encouraging the adoption of renewable energy, we can reduce Pakistan’s dependence on fossil fuels and create a reliable and sustainable energy solution. These sources are abundant in Pakistan and can provide a reliable and sustainable solution to the energy crisis. Through this campaign, we aim to:

  • Create Awareness Among the Public: We aim to create awareness among the general public about the benefits of renewable energy sources. We will educate the public about how renewable energy sources can help to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable development.
  • Encourage Adoption of Renewable Energy Technologies: We will encourage the adoption of renewable energy technologies in households, industries, and the agriculture sector. We will provide guidance on how to install and maintain these technologies and demonstrate their benefits.
  • Advocate for Policies That Support the Growth of the Renewable Energy Sector: We will work to promote policies that support the growth of the renewable energy sector. This will include advocating for tax incentives, subsidies, and regulatory frameworks that make it easier for individuals and organizations to adopt renewable energy technologies.
  • Foster Partnerships Between Stakeholders in the Renewable Energy Sector: We believe that partnerships between stakeholders in the renewable energy sector can help to promote the adoption of renewable energy technologies. We will work to build partnerships between NGOs, government organizations, and private companies to promote the use of renewable energy sources.
  • Promote Job Creation: We believe that the adoption of renewable energy technologies can create new job opportunities. We will work to promote job creation in the renewable energy sector, particularly for individuals who may have been impacted by the country’s energy crisis.

We invite you to join us in our efforts to promote renewable energy in Pakistan. Whether you’re a homeowner, business owner, or simply interested in learning more about renewable energy, we have the resources and expertise to help you make the switch. Together, we can create a sustainable future for Pakistan, reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, and help Pakistan meet its sustainable development goals.

Green Corporate Alliance (GCA)

Where industry, policy, and purpose meet to drive Pakistan’s green industrial transition.

The Green Corporate Alliance (GCA) is an initiative by Alternate Development Services (ADS), bringing together businesses, industry associations, policymakers, and civil society organizations from Pakistan’s textile, sports goods, apparel, fashion wear, and sportswear sectors. We are a shared platform where actors across these industries connect to exchange views, share news, and collaborate on ideas that advance sustainable industrial development.

GCA exists to drive industrial decarbonization, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and accelerating the adoption of renewable energy across Pakistan’s most energy-intensive export industries. We believe that the textile, apparel, fashion wear, and sportswear sectors, as engines of Pakistan’s economy, have both the responsibility and the opportunity to lead this transition.

Through combined events, joint advocacy, and knowledge exchange, GCA members work together to shape government policies that support clean energy, lower emissions, and a credible response to climate change. Our work is aligned with national and international climate frameworks and commitments aimed at reducing emissions and transitioning toward clean, renewable energy.

We are an alliance of the willing, bringing together industry leaders, trade associations, researchers, and change-makers who understand that the climate challenge requires collective action. If your organization shares this vision, we invite you to join us.
